How do I choose pads and liners?

Pad names such as regular, super and overnight describe menstrual flow, and they vary by brand. Compare the length and thickness too. Listings show lengths such as 24.5, 29.5 and 34.5 cm, and wings help keep a pad in place.

Choose a longer, higher-absorbency pad for nights or heavier days. Light-flow days often suit a liner or a thin pad.

Period underwear, reusable pads or disposables?

Disposable period underwear comes in sizes from S/M to XXL and is thrown away after use. Reusable cloth pads are washed and worn again. Organic cotton covers are available in several brands.

Some people use period or postpartum underwear after birth. See how postpartum and period underwear differ and disposable vs washable postpartum underwear. Ask your midwife, doctor or nurse what suits you.

What if the leak is from the bladder, not a period?

Period pads and bladder leak pads are built for different fluids and flow speeds. A bladder leak pad takes in thin liquid quickly, which a menstrual pad is not designed for. Read period pads vs bladder leak pads for the differences.

Our guide to bladder leak products for women and adult incontinence collection cover pads, liners and underwear. Ask your doctor or nurse if leaks are new, frequent or changing.

Questions shoppers ask

What do pad absorbency names mean?

Names such as regular, super and overnight describe menstrual flow and differ by brand. Compare length and thickness as well as the name, and pick a longer pad for night.

Can I wear period underwear after giving birth?

Some people use disposable or washable underwear in the early postpartum days. Check the size and use on the product page, and ask your midwife, doctor or nurse what suits you.

How do I wash reusable pads?

Follow the care label on the pack for water temperature and drying. Reusable pads are washed and worn again, so keep a few spares while others are in the wash.

Do you sell tampons and menstrual cups?

Yes. The collection includes tampons from brands such as Tampax, plus menstrual cups. Check the size and flow level on each listing, and follow the package insert.
